Cabin Boat Racing at Valley Sailing Assoc.

VSA is hosting a six race day series for the Cabin Boat participants.  Sailing Instructions are posted here on the website and available on bulletin boards at VSA, and Harbor Point.  The schedule of races and results are below.  Skippers meetings may be held before the races at the discretion of the race committee.  Races conducted at the VSA harbor will usually not have a meeting, as the depth of the harbor prevents fixed keel boats from entering.

The object of VSA Cabin Boat racing program is to promote friendly competition and interest in the sport of sailing.  Competition tests the skills of the skipper and crew enhancing the sailing experience, giving a feeling of accomplishment that is hard to obtain in everyday life . All types of Cabin Boats can race.  We are using the Portsmouth Yardstick handicapping system this year.  This system is sanctioned by US Sailing and provides an easy way for a small fleet to handicap boats without having to form a committee to determine these handicaps.  Support for this system is available at the US Sailing website.

The Fleet Captain/Chairman for the Cabin boat fleet is Joe Fisher -  fisher@ezl.com.
